Visit the Chrome Web Store (or Firefox Add-ons), click "Add to Chrome" (or "Add to Firefox"), and grant the required permissions. The TabToTask icon will appear in your browser toolbar.
TabToTask works on Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. We use Manifest V3 for Chrome and Manifest V2 for Firefox. Both versions have the same features.
No account is required for the free version. Your data is stored locally in your browser. If you upgrade to Pro and want cloud sync, you will need to create an account.
Click the TabToTask icon in your toolbar or press Alt+T (Option+T on Mac). The current tab will be saved as a task. You can add notes or priority before saving.
TabToTask only requests permissions necessary for its functionality: access to tabs (to read tab titles and URLs), storage (to save your tasks), and optionally identity (for Pro cloud sync).
Click the TabToTask icon and select "View Tasks", or press Alt+L (Option+L on Mac). You can also right-click the extension icon and select "Open Task List".
Yes! Right-click the TabToTask icon and select "Save All Tabs". This saves all tabs in the current window as tasks. Great for saving research sessions.
In your task list, click on any task to reopen it as a tab. You can choose to keep the task or mark it as complete when opening.
Yes! Create custom categories to organize your tasks. The free plan includes 5 categories, while Pro offers unlimited categories.
Alt+T (Option+T on Mac) saves the current tab. Alt+L opens your task list. You can customize these shortcuts in your browser extension settings.
Yes! When saving a tab, you can add notes and set a priority level. You can also edit notes later from the task list.
Yes! The free plan includes 25 active tasks and 5 categories, which is enough for most users. You only need Pro if you want unlimited tasks, cloud sync, or priority support.
Pro includes unlimited tasks, unlimited categories, cloud sync across devices, auto status detection (tasks show "In Progress" when the tab is open), and priority email support.
Click the "Upgrade" button in the extension or visit our pricing page. You can choose monthly ($1.99/mo), yearly ($14.99/yr), or lifetime ($24.99 one-time) plans.
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) and debit cards through Stripe. Payments are secure and PCI compliant.
Yes! We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied, contact us at support@tabtotask.com and we will process your refund.
You can cancel anytime from the extension settings or by contacting support. Your Pro features will remain active until the end of your billing period.
By default, your data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome Storage API. If you enable cloud sync (Pro feature), data is encrypted and stored securely on our servers.
Yes! TabToTask works completely offline. You can save tabs, view tasks, and manage everything without an internet connection. Cloud sync only happens when online.
With Pro, yes! Enable cloud sync in settings, and your tasks will sync across all devices where you are signed in. Changes sync in real-time.
Yes! You can export your tasks as JSON from the extension settings. This works on both Free and Pro plans. Useful for backups or switching browsers.
We actively maintain TabToTask and update it for browser changes. We support Manifest V3 for Chrome to ensure long-term compatibility.
In the free version, we collect nothing—your data stays entirely on your device. With Pro cloud sync, we store your tasks (encrypted) but never your browsing history.
No. We do not track, monitor, or analyze your browsing activity. The extension only accesses tab information when you explicitly save a tab.
Only you. Free users tasks stay on their device. Pro users tasks are encrypted before cloud storage. We cannot read your tasks.
Yes! We are fully GDPR compliant. You can export, download, or delete your data at any time. Contact us for data requests.
Free users: Clear extension data from browser settings. Pro users: Use the "Delete Account" option in settings or contact support for complete data removal.
